Mandarin 1 Homework #20

Good afternoon. In today's class we started our session with a review of Pinyin through a group competition. After that, we’ve started learning Unit 9. In the lesson, we focused on the text 《我的家My Family》 and learned the pronunciation and meanings of nine Chinese characters: 的、家、这、有、爷、奶、爸、妈、和. Following that, we practiced writing these characters together and did some word formation exercises using them. I explained the use of the comma and pause mark ( “、”顿号) in the text, as it might be a bit unfamiliar to students. Remember, the comma is often used to separate sentences with a slightly longer pause during reading, while the pause mark is used to list items, with a shorter pause.


We also learned a sentence pattern "这是我的家" (This is my family). The structure is: Subject (pronoun) + "是" + Object. In our next class, we will expand on this sentence pattern and practice replacing words.

For your homework, I encourage students to draw a family portrait or use photos to practice introducing your family in Mandarin. In our next class, you can bring your drawings or photos, and I'll invite each of you to come up and give a short speech about your family.

After class, please complete the following exercises:
1.Listen to the recording and repeat the text, words and phrases on page 48 to 51 from Unit 9 of the Chinese textbook. Practise reading “My Family” as fluently as you can.
2.Complete “汉字书写练习”. Please write each character and its pinyin twice every day.
3.Draw a family portrait or use a photo to practise introducing your family in Mandarin.
4.Complete exercises from page 53 to 61 in Chinese workbook 1A.
5.Review Unit 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Pinyin textbook.

下午好。今天我们先进行了拼音的复习,之后学习了中文第九单元的学习。通过学习课文《我的家》,我们学习了9个汉字(的、家、这、有、爷、奶、爸、妈、和)的读音和含义,然后我们一起练习了这些汉字的书写,并用这些汉字进行了组词练习。这篇课文里出现的顿号对孩子们来说是一个比较陌生的标点符号。需要孩子们注意顿号常用于列举事物,分隔的是词语,朗读时停顿时间短;而逗号常用于分隔句子,朗读时停顿时间稍长于顿号。
我们今天还学习了句型“这是我的家。”句型结构为:主语(代词)+“是”+宾语。下节课我们继续会围绕这个句型,进行词语替换的拓展练习。
课后,孩子们可以自己画一张全家福或者使用照片,练习用中文介绍自己的家庭。下次上课时,可以带着图画或照片,我会邀请同学们分别上台做一个小演讲,介绍自己的家庭。

本次课后,请同学们完成以下练习:
1.听录音,跟读中文课本第九单元第48至51页的课文、生字和词语。熟练朗读课文《我的家》;
2.完成“汉字书写练习”,每天每个字写两遍,需要给每个汉字标注拼音。
3.画一张全家福,或者使用照片,练习用中文介绍自己的家庭。
4.完成中文练习册1A第53页到第61页练习。
5.复习汉语拼音课本第1、2、3、4课内容。

下节课我们会继续中文课本第9单元的学习。请课后多多练习,有问题随时提问。
