 Hi Parents and Students,

Good afternoon! In today’s class, we focused on practicing the "yes/no" question structure using “会不会”, such as “月亮会不会跟人走？” (Will the moon follow people?). Students created many interesting sentences by replacing different words, like “你会不会讲中文？” (Can you speak Chinese?) and “你们会不会去公园玩？” (Will you go to the park?).

We also practiced a dialogue from page 59 of the textbook in pairs. During the activity, students worked together to express their ideas in complete sentences, which helped improve their speaking skills.

When learning the nursery rhyme “弯弯的月亮 A Crescent Moon”, students practiced recognizing and forming words with new characters: 弯wān,船chuán,只zhǐ,往wǎng,球 qiú,tíng. One important note is that “只” is a polyphonic character with different meanings based on pronunciation: zhǐ (只) means “only,” such as “我只有一本书。” (I only have one book); zhī (只) is a measure word for animals, like “一只小鸟” (a little bird). Please pay attention to the pronunciation while reading.

All students listened carefully and actively participated in reading activities. To reinforce learning, I recommend reviewing the new characters, dialogues, and nursery rhyme at home.

Homework for this week:

1. Listen to the recording and read along for Lesson 8 (Pages 54-60). Memorize “弯弯的月亮 A Crescent Moon”.

2. Complete the Chinese character writing practice for Lesson 8 (see attachment).

Next class, we will start Lesson 9. Students can try reading the text by themself in advance. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

下午好！今天的课堂我们重点练习了正反疑问句型 “月亮会不会跟人走？”，同学们通过替换不同的词语，创作了许多有趣的句子，比如：“你会不会讲中文？” “你们会不会去公园玩？”等。此外，我们参考课本第59页的对话内容，两人一组进行了对话练习。同学们在对话练习中相互配合，努力用完整的句子表达自己的想法，提高了口语表达能力。

在学习儿歌《弯弯的月亮》时，孩子们对 “弯、船、只、往、球、停” 这些生字进行了认读和组词练习。特别需要注意的是“只”是一个多音字，在不同的语境下读音和意思都会有所不同，当它读作zhǐ时，表示“仅仅”，例如“我只有一本书。”；当它读作zhī时，是量词，用来形容动物，例如“一只小鸟”。读课文时请注意区分。

课堂上，同学们认真聆听，积极朗读。建议回家后继续复习生字、课文对话和儿歌，多加练习，完成作业以巩固所学内容。

1. 听录音，跟读第8课所有内容（P54-60）；背诵《弯弯的月亮》；

2. 完成第8课汉字书写练习（见附件）

  Hi parents and students, Today we continued with Lesson 6. In class, we practiced using the sentence patterns “我（不）会...” (I can/cannot...) and “我学会了...” (I have learned...) to answer the questions “你会做什么？” (What can you do?) and “你学会了什么？” (What have you learned?). At home, parents can use these two questions to ask your child and encourage them to practice more. The lesson text was a tongue twister with a storyline. By reading it aloud, we experienced the rhythm of Chinese and understood the importance of tones in pronunciation. Before practicing the tongue twister, we learned the pronunciation and meaning of 7 new Chinese characters: 毛, 抱, 猫, 破, 赶, 苗, and 捉. We also reviewed the radicals “扌” (related to hand actions) and “走” (related to movement) and introduced a new radical, “犭,” which is often used for words related to animals or their actions.
