Hi Parents and Students,
Good afternoon. In today’s class, we reviewed Pinyin, characters, and vocabulary from the last lesson. We also completed the remaining content of Lesson 9.
The key sentence pattern for this lesson was “为什么河水会流动?” (Why does the river flow?). Through this structure, students learned how to ask questions using “为什么” (why). During our class discussion, everyone shared creative and interesting “why” questions. By practicing this sentence pattern, students not only improved their understanding of “为什么”, but also reviewed the correct use of the question mark in writing.
For speaking practice, we focused on two important structures: “为什么” (why) and “会不会” (can or not). Through dialogue exercises, students learned how to use these phrases in real conversations, enhancing their speaking skills.
Our reading material for today was a fun and catchy children’s rhyme 《小好奇》. We paid special attention to the pronunciation of “好”, which should be read as the fourth tone (hào) in this rhyme.
We also learned six new characters: 弟、怪、能、从、低、急. To help students remember them, we reinforced learning through interactive games.
Homework for this week:
1. Listen to the recording and follow along with the textbook (Lesson 9, pages 61-67).
2. Complete the Chinese character writing practice for Lesson 9. (attached)
