Dear parents and students,
Good afternoon. Today, we began by reciting characters from Unit 7 and all the Pinyin initial and finals we have learned so far and then focused on learning the pronunciation and writing of the finals "un," "ün," and the whole syllable "yun." Following the Pinyin exercises, we have started the first part of Uint8 in the Chinese textbook. Through the study of the text "我去学校" (I am going to school), students learned the pronunciation and meanings of 12 Chinese characters (开、了、真、高、兴、车、见、说、早、你、们、好). Then, we practiced writing these characters together and used them for word formation exercises. Previously, we had learned the pronunciation and meanings of 见 , 说 , 你, and 们 in earlier units. In this stage, I require students to also master the writing of these four characters. During post-class exercises in word formation or sentence construction, students need to pay attention to the usage of "们," which is used after pronouns or nouns indicating people to show plurality. However, when there is a quantity word in front of the noun, 们 is not added after the noun. For example, you can say "三个同学" (three students), but you cannot say "三个同学们" . Today we also learned the sentence pattern "我去学校" (I go to school) - (Subject + Verb + Object). In the next class, we will expand our practice by replacing words within this sentence pattern.
Upon reviewing the assignments, I noticed that some of the students tend to forget to include a period at the end of their sentences. In today's class, we emphasized the importance of using punctuation marks to make a sentence complete. I kindly request your support in reminding them to correct any mistakes in their homework.
Additionally, there were a few students who did not complete all the assigned exercises. I would appreciate it if you could encourage your child to make up for any unfinished tasks and ensure that all exercises are completed.
After class, please complete the following exercises:
1.Listen to the recording and repeat the text, words and phrases on page 42 to 45 from Unit 8 of the Chinese textbook.
2. Listen to the recording and repeat the content from the Unit 17 of Pinyin textbook.
3. Complete exercises from page 42 to 49 in Chinese workbook 1B.
4. Complete exercises from the Unit 17 of Pinyin workbook: Sections 一, 二, 三1, 四and五 .
We will keep working on pinyin and Unit 8 next week.

孩子们在课后组词或造句练习时需要注意:“们” 用在代词或指人的名词后面,表示复数; 但名词前面有数量词的时候,名词后面不加“们”。比如:可以说“ 三个同学”,但不能说“三个同学们”。我们今天还学习了句型“ 我去学校。”(主语+谓语动词+宾语) 下节课我们会围绕这个句型,进行词语替换的拓展练习。
通过检查作业,我发现孩子们在写句子的时候会忘记句尾的句号。 今天上课时讲解了要有标点符号才算是一个完整的句子。 希望孩子们回家后能将作业里的错误改正。 个别同学还有未完成作业的情况,请提醒孩子补做未完成的练习。
本次课后,请同学们完成以下练习:
1.听录音,跟读中文课本第八单元第42至45页的课文、 生字和词语。背诵课文《我去学校》;
2.听录音,跟读汉语拼音课本第17课的内容。
3.完成中文练习册1B第42页到第49页练习。
4.完成汉语拼音练习册第17课一、二、三1、四、五题。
下周正常上课。下节课我们会继续拼音和第八单元的学习。
