Mandarin 1 Homework #23

 家长朋友们同学们，


       下午好。今天孩子们都拿到了自己的第三次测试成绩，我们一起对易错的题目进行了分析。之后我们进行了中文第十单元的学习。通过学习课文《花园》，我们学习了12个汉字（花、园、门、前、个、他、后、外）的读音（拼音）、含义和书写，并用这些汉字进行了组词练习。 注意“门”是二声，“们”是轻声。本课重点学习的句子是：我家有个小花园。动词“有”表示存在。我们围绕“有”，进行了词语的替换练习。

本次课后，请同学们完成以下练习：
1.听录音，跟读中文课本第十单元第57至60页的课文、生字和词语。背诵课文《花园》；
2.完成中文练习册1B第十单元所有练习（第56页到第69页）；
3.复习汉语拼音课本第14、15课内容。

下次上课日期为4月13日，我们会继续中文课本第十单元的学习。

Dear Parents and students,

Good afternoon! Today students received their third quiz papers and together, we analyzed the questions they found challenging. Then we’ve been working on Unit 10. We focused on the text "花园" (huā yuán - Garden) and explored the pronunciation, meanings, and writing of 12 characters: 花 huā, 园 yuán, 门 mén, 前 qián, 个 gè, 他 tā, 后 hòu, and 外 wài. It's important to note that "门" (mén) is pronounced with the second tone, while "们" (men) is a neutral tone. 

The key sentence we emphasized in today's lesson is: "我家有个小花园" (wǒ jiā yǒu gè xiǎo huā yuán) - "There is a small garden in my house." We practiced sentence construction around the verb "有" (yǒu), which indicates existence, by replacing words within the sentence structure.

For homework, 
1. Listen to the recording and practice reading the text, new words, and phrases from page 57 to 60 of the Chinese textbook. Also, memorize the text "花园" (Garden).
2. Complete all exercises from Unit 10 in Chinese Workbook 1B, from page 56 to page 69.
3. Review the content of Unit 14 and 15 of the Pinyin textbook.

The next class is on April 13th, and we will continue with Unit 10.

  Hi parents and students, Today we continued with Lesson 6. In class, we practiced using the sentence patterns “我（不）会...” (I can/cannot...) and “我学会了...” (I have learned...) to answer the questions “你会做什么？” (What can you do?) and “你学会了什么？” (What have you learned?). At home, parents can use these two questions to ask your child and encourage them to practice more. The lesson text was a tongue twister with a storyline. By reading it aloud, we experienced the rhythm of Chinese and understood the importance of tones in pronunciation. Before practicing the tongue twister, we learned the pronunciation and meaning of 7 new Chinese characters: 毛, 抱, 猫, 破, 赶, 苗, and 捉. We also reviewed the radicals “扌” (related to hand actions) and “走” (related to movement) and introduced a new radical, “犭,” which is often used for words related to animals or their actions. Hi Parents and Students, Good afternoon.  In today’s class, we reviewed Pinyin, characters, and vocabulary from the last lesson. We also completed the remaining content of Lesson 9. The key sentence pattern for this lesson was  “ 为什么河水会流动？ ” (Why does the river flow?) . Through this structure, students learned how to ask questions using  “ 为什么 ” (why) . During our class discussion, everyone shared creative and interesting “why” questions. By practicing this sentence pattern, students not only improved their understanding of  “ 为什么 ” , but also reviewed the correct use of the question mark in writing. For speaking practice, we focused on two important structures:  “ 为什么 ” (why) and “ 会不会 ” (can or not) . Through dialogue exercises, students learned how to use these phrases in real conversations, enhancing their speaking skills.
