Mandarin G2B Homework #16

Hi parents and students,  

In today’s class, we first spent 15 minutes quickly reviewing Chinese characters and Pinyin. Then, we used 45 minutes to complete the second unit test. All students followed the exam rules and worked hard to finish the test within the given time. The test results will be sent individually to parents by next Friday. The test paper and answers are attached to this email.  

Since some students showed signs of forgetting parts of Pinyin, after the test, we reviewed all Pinyin initials, finals, syllables with fixed pronunciation rules, and blending rules. We also practiced them together.

Later, we watched three short videos to learn how the Chinese characters 家 (home), 爱 (love), and 听 (listen) evolved from Oracle Bone Script to the characters we use today. The students showed great interest in the evolution of Chinese characters, and I will introduce more interesting character facts in future classes.

For students who were absent today, please print the test paper and have your child complete it in 45 minutes this week. Submit a photo of the completed test via email by this Friday.

Homework for this week:
1.Redo the test questions.
2.Correct mistakes in workbooks 2A and 2B.
3.Use “writing practice 汉字书写练习” to review any unfamiliar characters and pinyin.


In the next class, we will study Lesson 7 of the Chinese textbook. Encourage your child to preview it in advance.

家长们、同学们，

今天我们在课上先用15分钟快速复习了汉字和拼音，用45分钟的时间完成了第二次单元测试。每一位同学都能够遵守考试纪律，并在规定时间内努力完成试卷。测试结果会在下周五前单独发送给各位家长。我已将本次测试题目和答案附加到此封邮件。

因发现部分同学对汉语拼音有所遗忘，测试结束后，我们重新复习了所有和汉语拼音声母、韵母、整体认读音节和拼读规则，并进行了练习。

之后，我们通过观看三个小视频，了解了汉字“家”、“爱”和“听”是如何从甲骨文演变到了现在我们使用的汉字。同学们对汉字的演变十分感兴趣，之后的课堂上我也会给大家介绍更多的汉字小知识。

今天缺席的同学，请家长协助打印试卷，本周用45分钟的时间，完成考试内容。这周五之前请将完成的试卷拍照后通过电子邮件传给我。
 
请同学们用本周时间完成以下练习：
1. 重新做一遍测试题目。
2.修改练习册2A和2B里的错误
3.可以使用“汉字书写练习”自主复习前六课中不熟悉的汉字和拼音。

下次课我们会学习中文第7课，鼓励孩子们提前预习。

  Hi parents and students, Today we continued with Lesson 6. In class, we practiced using the sentence patterns “我（不）会...” (I can/cannot...) and “我学会了...” (I have learned...) to answer the questions “你会做什么？” (What can you do?) and “你学会了什么？” (What have you learned?). At home, parents can use these two questions to ask your child and encourage them to practice more. The lesson text was a tongue twister with a storyline. By reading it aloud, we experienced the rhythm of Chinese and understood the importance of tones in pronunciation. Before practicing the tongue twister, we learned the pronunciation and meaning of 7 new Chinese characters: 毛, 抱, 猫, 破, 赶, 苗, and 捉. We also reviewed the radicals “扌” (related to hand actions) and “走” (related to movement) and introduced a new radical, “犭,” which is often used for words related to animals or their actions. Hi Parents and Students, Good afternoon.  In today’s class, we reviewed Pinyin, characters, and vocabulary from the last lesson. We also completed the remaining content of Lesson 9. The key sentence pattern for this lesson was  “ 为什么河水会流动？ ” (Why does the river flow?) . Through this structure, students learned how to ask questions using  “ 为什么 ” (why) . During our class discussion, everyone shared creative and interesting “why” questions. By practicing this sentence pattern, students not only improved their understanding of  “ 为什么 ” , but also reviewed the correct use of the question mark in writing. For speaking practice, we focused on two important structures:  “ 为什么 ” (why) and “ 会不会 ” (can or not) . Through dialogue exercises, students learned how to use these phrases in real conversations, enhancing their speaking skills.
